Nagravision Keys Are Unique To Each Satellite Service Provider And Are Beamed Up And Over The Satellite Stream And Into Your Satellite Receiver In An Encrypted Form That In Theory Only The Smartcard Can Decrypt. Once The Encrypted Packet Containing The Nagravision Keys Are Decrypted By The Smartcards The Nagravision Keys Are Then Provided Back To The Satellite Receiver If The Tiers Or Data Code On The Smartcard EEPROM Indicate Viewing Of Said Channel Is Authorized.
If The Tiers In The EEPROM Of The Smartcard Indicated Authorization Is Allowed The Smart Card Then Re Encrypts The Now Decrypted And RAW Nagravision Keys With An Encryption Method Only The Satellite Receiver Can Decode And Provides The Nagravision Keys Back To The Satellite Receiver Via An Encrypted Packet.
The Nagravision Receiver Then Decrypts The Encrypted Nagravision Keys And Uses The Nagravision Keys To Encrypt Small Portions Of The Audio And Video MPEG Stream Until Such Time As New Nagravision Keys Are Required To Decrypt More Portions Of The Nagravision Satellite Stream Which Will Once Again Require New Up To Date Nagravision Keys.
